BASIC INFORMATION

Q: What are Premiere! Events?

Premiere! Events are events that provide the opportunity to preview an upcoming set at an Official Tournament Store (OTS). Premiere! Events are primarily non-competitive events but still require a high standard of sportsmanship from the Duelists.

To participate in the LEDE Premiere!, you purchase a minimum of five (5) packs of LEDE and enter your CARD GAME ID into the LEDE Premiere Participation Event. Duelists will have the opportunity to purchase additional packs of LEDE (while supplies last). Each OTS may set limits on how many additional packs you can purchase to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to purchase extra packs.

In addition to the opportunity to purchase packs of LEDE at Premiere! Events, your OTS can host a Premiere! Event Tournament! Any Duelist that purchases packs of LEDE can participate in the Premiere! Event Tournament at no extra cost. Premiere! Event Tournaments let you use your new LEDE cards in your Constructed Decks to try them out a week before they are legal for tournament play!

Q: When and where is the Premiere! Event?

LEDE Premiere! Events will be held on Saturday and/or Sunday, April 20, 2024 – April 21, 2024. Please contact the OTS for exact date(s) and time(s) and format for their Premiere! Event. A list of locations for currently scheduled Premiere! Events can be found online at https://www.yugioh-card.com/en/events/core-booster-premiere/.

Q: What is the attendance capacity for the Premiere! Event?

Due to local regulations and policies specific to each OTS, those hosting an in-store Premiere! Event may have a seating capacity and may vary from location to location. If you have any additional questions, please contact the OTS directly at the phone number that corresponds with the event in the Premiere! Event listings page.

Q: How do I enter a Premiere! Event?

Duelists in the United States will pay $22.50 USD ($33.75 CAD in Canada) to receive five (5) Booster Packs and registration in the event, no exceptions. This will also entitle you to entry into any Premiere! Event Tournaments. All Duelists entering the LEDE Premiere! Event will receive the following items upon payment, while supplies last:

  • 5 LEDE Booster Packs
  • 1 LEDE Field Center Card* (FCC)

*While supplies last

Sales tax and fees will be charged for the Premiere! Event if such taxes and fees apply in your area.

With paid entry into the Premiere! Event, you are able to participate in any Premiere! Event Tournaments the store may be hosting at no additional charge.

Q: What are the prizes for the Premiere! Event?

Every Duelist who purchases a minimum of five (5) Booster Packs of LEDE will receive a LEDE FCC* with their purchase and be entered into a drawing to win exclusive prizes including a LEDE Game Mat* and the Silent Magician Zero Promo Card*.

* While supplies last

LEDE Game Mat

LEDE Promo Card

In addition to the items you receive upon registering for the Premiere! Event, you are also eligible to win an exclusive LEDE Game Mat and Silent Magician Zero Promo Card. Premiere! Event Game Mats and Promo Cards may be distributed via two methods:

  • If the OTS is running a Premiere! Event Tournament(s), up to half of the Game Mats and Promo Cards from the kit may be used as prizing, while the rest are given out randomly as either door prizes or through drawings to those that purchased LEDE Booster Packs during the Premiere! Event.
  • If the OTS is not running a Premiere! Event Tournament, all of the Game Mats and Promo Cards from the kit will be given out randomly as either door prizes or through drawings to those that purchased LEDE Booster Packs during the Premiere! Event.

If you win a Premiere! Event Game Mat as a prize in a Premiere! Event Tournament, you are not eligible to win one of the Game Mats as a door prize or drawing. Similarly, if you win a Premiere! Event Promo Card as a prize in the Premiere! Event Tournament, you are not eligible to win one of the Promo Cards as a door prize or drawing. If you win a Promo Card or Game Mat prior to winning one in the Premiere! Event Tournament, the tournament prize would go to the next eligible Duelist in the tournament.

Premiere! participants are only eligible to win a maximum of one (1) Premiere! Game Mat and one (1) Promo Card per location for the entire weekend.

Q: Will there be a Constructed tournament run in conjunction with the Premiere! Event?

OTS have the option to run a Premiere! Event Tournament. A Premiere! Event Tournament is a Constructed tournament where Duelists are allowed to add their new cards from LEDE to their Constructed Decks to try them out a week before they are tournament legal!

Decks must be constructed according to the latest Advanced Format guidelines. (See here for more information: http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/limited.) In addition, LEDE cards pulled from the product you received at this event are tournament legal for these Premiere! Event Tournaments only.

Q: How do Premiere! Event Tournaments work?

OTS may offer this additional tournament(s) as part of the Premiere! Event festivities, by advertising it ahead of time. The number of tournaments each store is allowed to host will vary by store. You should check with the OTS to see if they will be running a Premiere! Event Tournament(s) in conjunction with their Premiere! Event.

Only Duelists who have registered and purchased entry into the Premiere! Event are eligible to participate in a Premiere! Event Tournament. No additional registration fee can be charged.

Premiere! Event Tournaments cannot be run outside of the scheduled Premiere! Event hours.

While you may only purchase one Premiere! Event entry per location per day, you may compete in multiple Premiere! Event Tournaments a day if the OTS is offering more than one tournament. No additional registration fees will be charged. This is because all Premiere! Event Tournaments are included as part of the same Premiere! Event registration fee you paid when you purchased your five (5) packs.

Each Duelist is eligible to receive a maximum of 1 Game Mat and 1 Promo Card per location throughout the weekend.

You must have a valid CARD GAME ID and be in good standing in order to participate in a Premiere! Event.

Premiere! Event Tournaments are considered to be Official, but not Sanctioned. This means that the tournaments will not affect the Duelist’s KCGN Ratings & Rankings. The winner of each Premiere! Event Tournament will win one (1) Premiere! Event Game Mat.

Q: Will I need to complete and turn in a Deck List?

No. Deck Lists are not required for any Premiere! Event Tournaments.

Q: Can I play in more than one Premiere! Event?

Each Duelist may only purchase entry into the Premiere! Event once per day per location.

Once you have received your Premiere! Event items with entry, you are eligible to participate in any Premiere! Event Tournaments, if applicable, at that location.

Q: If I’ve never been to a Premiere! Event, what should I expect?

A list of participating OTS can be found at the bottom of our Premiere! Event webpage: https://www.yugioh-card.com/en/events/core-booster-premiere/

Premiere! Events are local-level events held at participating OTS and attract both casual and competitive Duelists who want to preview the upcoming Booster set before its official release date.

There are a lot of things you should do to make sure you are prepared before heading to the Premiere! Event.

Read over the list of things you will need for the event, and make sure you have everything.

When you get to the event, you will need to register to play. Please check with a staff member for instructions regarding registration.

Please arrive at your OTS early enough before the Premiere! Event is scheduled to start to ensure you will be properly registered for the event. Supplies are limited and are available on a first come, first served basis.

Duelists are responsible for paying attention to information from judges and/or tournament staff to understand what is going on. If Duelists have questions about the event either beforehand or while they are there, they should check with the OTS.

Before heading to the event, all Duelists should read over the KDE-US Tournament Policy and Penalty Guidelines carefully. These documents tell you what you can and cannot do at an event and give you a good idea of what to expect. You may find these Guidelines by clicking the following links.

Q: I want to judge at a Premiere! Event, instead of competing as a Duelist – how do I request to participate?

Premiere! Events do not require Official KONAMI Judges. Some OTS will opt to have an Official KONAMI Judge as it provides Duelists with a better event experience.

If you’re interested in judging, you should contact the OTS for the Premiere! Event as soon as possible (use the contact number provided in the Premiere! Event Locator listing). Most OTS are always on the lookout for Judge Staff, so be prepared to provide your full name, contact information, including e-mail and phone number, and a description of your previous judging experience.

Q: Who should I contact for more information about a specific Premiere! Event?

Your best resource for answers about a specific Premiere! Event is the contact number listed on the LEDE Premiere! Event Locator listing:

https://www.yugioh-card.com/en/events/core-booster-premiere/locations/

KDE-US won’t be able to answer questions such as “How do I get to the venue?,” “Where should I park?,” “When does registration start?,” and so forth. For questions such as these, you will need to contact the OTS directly.

If you have more general questions about Premiere! Events, you can send them to us-opsupport@kde-us.com. Please be as detailed as possible, so we can try to provide you with the answers you’re seeking!

Q: Can I get a CARD GAME ID number at the Premiere! Event, or will I need to have one before I attend the event?

A CARD GAME ID is required to participate in the Premiere! Event.

If you previously had a COSSY ID, that same number will carry over as your CARD GAME ID. You will still need to register online at https://cardgame-network.konami.net/.

If you do not remember your previous 10-digit ID, a registration staff member on-site should be able to assist in finding your correct ID. Duelists should avoid acquiring new CARD GAME IDs if the previous ID can be found.

If you do not have a CARD GAME ID number, you can get one by downloading the NEURON app from the app stores, Google Play and the Apple App Store.

Q: I would like to provide feedback to KDE-US concerning the Premiere! Event I attended, who should I contact?

If you attended one of our Premiere! Events and would like to send us feedback, you can send us an e-mail about your specific event by e-mailing us at us-opsupport@kde-us.com, with the header line “North America LEDE Premiere! Event Feedback [Store Name]”. All feedback, including comments about the OTS, the judges, or the event itself, will be welcome! All feedback is always kept confidential. Please make sure your e-mail includes which Premiere! Event you attended, including date and location.

PREPARING FOR THE PREMIERE! EVENT

OTS retain the right to refuse service to Duelists who have engaged in criminal behavior, such as theft or violent conduct. OTS may contact KDE-US via us-penalty@konami.com if they have any questions about a Duelist’s eligibility to compete.

Any tournament official associated with or working an event cannot play in that specific event. This includes, but is not limited to, the Judge Staff, Scorekeeper, Event Staff, Store Owner, and Tournament Organizer.

Suspended persons may not enter the venue of a Premiere! Event, no exceptions. If a suspended person is discovered at the venue, they may be charged with offenses including but not limited to trespassing, as well as an extension of their suspension.

Q: What will I need to bring to a Premiere! Event?

You should bring any Dueling supplies you will need, such as paper and pen to track Life Points, dice or counters, extra sleeves to replace any that become damaged, and so forth. If you have a CARD GAME ID number, you should bring your number in case the OTS will need it. You’ll also need the registration fee for the Premiere! Event, as well as money for any incidentals (food, drink, etc.).

Q: What if I lost an item at a Premiere! Event?

Duelists are responsible for looking after their own belongings at the Premiere! Event. KDE-US, OTS, Staff, and Judges bear no responsibility for, and cannot be held liable for, any loss, theft or damage to the person or personal property of any attendee.

Duelists who lost items should seek the Lost & Found on-site. If the item is not found on-site, Duelists are encouraged to contact the OTS within a 60-day period on the chance the lost item has been turned in.

AT THE PREMIERE! EVENT

Q: How long will the Premiere! Event last?

The LEDE Premiere! Events will be held on Saturday and/or Sunday, April 20, 2024 – April 21, 2024. Please contact your participating OTS for the date and time they are running the Premiere! Event. A list of participating OTS can be found at the bottom of our Premiere! Event webpage: https://www.yugioh-card.com/en/events/core-booster-premiere/

Q: How long will the Premiere! Event Tournament last?

The number of Rounds is determined by the number of Duelists enrolled in the tournament. Please contact the OTS for additional format details. If the OTS has chosen to run the event using Swiss Rounds, the following chart will be used:

Number of Duelists*Number of Swiss RoundsPlayoff Top Cut (if advertised)
4 – 83 Rounds of SwissNone
9 – 164 Rounds of SwissTop 4
17 – 325 Rounds of SwissTop 4
33 or More6 Rounds of SwissTop 8

*Number of Duelists is based on how many total Duelists are enrolled in the tournament once Registration closes. All Duelists added to the event after registration closes should not affect the number of Swiss Rounds. Playoff Top Cut is based on the total number of enrolled Duelists, which includes any late Registrations.

ExamplesAfter registration closes, 32 Duelists have registered for the Premiere! Event tournament. This means that the Premiere! Event tournament will have 5 Rounds of Swiss. Two Duelists register late, beginning the tournament with a Round 1 Match Loss. Even though this brings the attendance total to 34, only 5 Rounds of Swiss are played. If a Playoff Top Cut has been advertised, the Playoff Top Cut will go from Top 4 to Top 8.

Q: Can I buy and sell cards from other Duelists at the event?

Each Premiere! Event location may have different buying, selling, or trading policies. Duelists should contact the OTS and inquire about that store’s policies regarding buying, selling, and trading.

Q: What is the time limit for each Round for the Premiere! Event Tournament?

Each Premiere! Event Tournament Swiss Round will consist of best 2-out-of-3 game Matches, with a 45-minute time limit.

Q: What happens if I am not done with my Match after 45 minutes?

Sometimes a Match will not be finished when the time ends for a Round. If this happens, it is both Duelists’ responsibility to note whose turn it is when time is called. Duelists who require assistance with the End of Match procedures should raise their hand and call for a judge. The judge should be notified that the Match is ongoing and whose turn it is. The judge may or may not stay to supervise the End of Match procedure but should ensure that both Duelists understand the following procedures.

End of Match procedures should follow these three (3) rules:

Rule #1: If time is called while Duelists are in the middle of a Game, the current Game must have a decision (Win, Loss, or Draw)

Rule #2: Once the current Game has concluded with a decision, determine the winner of the Match by determining the number of Game Wins (or Game Losses) each Duelist has for the current Match. The Duelist with the most Game Wins will win the Match.

Swiss Rounds: If both Duelists have the same number of Game Wins, or if time was called in between games of a Match when both Duelists had the same number of Game Wins, then the Match is a Draw.

Single-Elimination Rounds: If both Duelists have the same number of Game Wins, or if time is called in between Games of a Match while both Duelists have the same number of Game Wins, they will begin a new Duel with specific guidelines.

  • Neither Duelist may use his or her Side Deck. If time was called in between Games of a Match and at least one Duelist has already accessed his or her Side Deck, then both Duelists may use their Side Deck.
    • Duelists must use a random method (die roll, coin flip, etc.) to determine who will go first.
    • The Duel will continue for a total of four (4) turns, two (2) turns for each Duelist, unless a Duelist manages to win the Duel before the four (4) turns have concluded.
  • Once the four (4) turns are completed, Life Point totals are compared and the Duelist with the highest Life Point total wins the Match.
    • If both Duelists’ Life Points are the same after the four (4) turns are completed, then play will continue on a turn-by-turn basis, with the Duelist with the most Life Points at the end of a turn being declared the winner of that Game.

Rule #3: If a win condition occurs during End of Match Procedures, that Duelist wins the current Game.

Keeping these three (3) rules in mind, please follow these instructions when proceeding to End of Match procedures:

  • Continue with the current Phase of the Game. Once the Phase is over, stop the game.
  • Determine a Game Winner at this point, with the Duelist with the most Life Points winning the Game.
    • During Swiss Rounds, if both Duelists’ Life Points are the same, the Game is a Draw. Compare Game Wins with the Duelist with the most Game Wins winning the Match. If the Game Win totals are the same, the Match is a Draw.
    • During Single-Elimination, if both Duelists’ Life Points are the same at the end of the current Phase (Step 1 above), finish the current turn. If both Duelists’ Life Points are the same at the end of the turn, then play will continue on a turn-by-turn basis, with the Duelist with the most Life Points at the end of a turn being declared the winner of that Game.

Match Draws cannot occur during Single-Elimination Rounds.
