Certification Testing

You must pass the Rulings Certification Level 1 Test (RC-1) before you will be able to register in the Konami Judge Program.
Passing the RC-1 will not automatically register you as a Konami Judge.
After passing the RC-1, you must complete an online form in order to register as a Konami Judge.

By passing certification tests, a judge can evaluate their knowledge of the various aspects of judging. While passing the RC-1 is required to join the Konami Judge Program, all registered Konami Judges are encouraged to actively pursue additional Judge Certification.

Level 1 Certification Tests are offered online.
Level 2 Certification Tests are offered in-person.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT LEVEL 1 (ONLINE) TESTING:

If you would like to take a Level 1 (online) test, click on the appropriate link to go to the test page. Please be aware that:

  • Judge Certification is available only to persons aged 16 and older.
  • You will need a valid CARD GAME ID number and a valid email address, for your certification to be confirmed. If you do not have a CARD GAME ID number, you can obtain one at a KDE Official Tournament Store, or through the Konami Card Game Network (KCGN) website: https://cardgame-network.konami.net
  • You must score 80% or higher to pass.
  • You may take the test more than once, if you do not pass on your first attempt.
  • Test candidates must avoid discussing the questions and answers with other people.
  • Several of the tests are available in more than one language. You can select the language for the test from a drop-down menu on the test page.

Once you have completed the test and submitted your answers, you will receive your score immediately from the test page, so you will know right away if you have passed the test.

If you have scored 80% or higher, within a few weeks after your test, you will receive an email congratulating you on your new certification, which will tell you how you can become more involved in the Konami Judge Program.
