Las Vegas 2020

UPDATED: 01/16/2020

We are pleased to announce that a "3 vs 3 Team Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series" will take place in Las Vegas, NV on February 22-23, 2020!

A Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series (YCS) is a big, exciting 2-day event that takes place from Saturday to Sunday. Duelists from all over will attend to compete for exclusive prizes, earn invites to their World Championship Qualifier, and spend the weekend Dueling, trading, and hanging out with hundreds of other Yu-Gi-Oh! fans.

In addition to the main Championship Series tournament, there are numerous Public Events, including tournaments specifically for Duelists born in 2006 or later, and Regional Qualifier tournaments.  Competitive or casual, there is something for everyone to do at a Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series weekend event.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING
Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series Las Vegas 2020

Team Tournament Format for YCS Las Vegas

  • 3 players = 1 team. The team must register at the same time.
  • This will be a two-day tournament using Advanced Constructed Decks in the Swiss format.
  • Best 2 out of 3 Matches as a team. Two team members winning their Matches will equal a Team Match win. Once two members of a team win their respective Matches, the Duel is over.
  • Each individual team member will play their matches independently, best 2 out of 3 Matches.
  • There will be no sharing of cards or fields between teammates, each Duelist plays their own opponent. Duelists on the same team can communicate with each other, if it does not significantly slow down the pace of an ongoing Match.
  • Swiss Rounds followed by a Single-Elimination Playoff Top Cut. Rounds are dependent on the total number of teams at the time registration closes.
  • Time Limit: 45 Minutes per Swiss Round.

For Single Players or Teams short of a Player:

  • We will have a meeting area on Saturday February 22nd at 8:00AM so that teams that have less than 3 members can fill out their team, or single players can find a team to join.
  • Starting at 9:00AM we will start taking the people who have not found a team yet and randomly assign them to a team.

We cannot guarantee that Duelists that do not have a full Team will be assigned Duelists to make a full Team.

Dragon Duel

  • At the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series Las Vegas, the Dragon Duel events will be individual events not team events.
  • We will have two different type of Dragon Duel events at this YCS: Constructed and Sealed.
  • Advanced Constructed Format Dragon Duel: Dragon Duelists will play using their own Decks and the winners of the Saturday and Sunday Dragon Duel Constructed events will play off for the Dragon Duel Championship to win Prize Cards and a Trophy on Sunday at the YCS.
  • For Dragon Duelists who don't have a Deck, but would still like to play, we will also be offering a casual Dragon Duel event where all the players will receive a Speed Duel Starter Deck to compete with and it is yours to keep afterwards!
  • Both styles of Dragon Duel events are FREE!

Therefore, YCS attendees and/or their families who want to attend LVL UP EXPO will need to purchase a badge to enter the convention. However, LVL UP EXPO is offering a 25% discount on the purchase of a badge to anyone attending TEAM YCS Las Vegas and their families.  You will need a discount code prior to purchasing your badge for LVL UP EXPO.  The discount code will be provided onsite at Registration of the YCS to attendees who can then go purchase a badge at LVL UP Registration if they so choose.
